Questions people ask before signing
Does the site visit and assessment cost anything?
The first visit and the condition assessment cost you nothing, and put you under no obligation afterwards. If you decide to go ahead we start on the bill of quantities. If you do not, you owe us nothing.
How is the cost calculated, and can it change during the work?
Cost is built from clear line items in a bill of quantities: each item with its unit, quantity and rate. The agreed price for those items is fixed. Any additional work that comes up is documented with its price and approved by you in writing before we carry it out, so nothing surprises you in the final invoice.
How long will the project take?
It depends on the type of work and the condition of the site, which is why we do not quote a duration before the visit. After the inspection you get a programme with stages, and if something is going to delay the work we tell you before it happens rather than after.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Restoring a single room, finishing a flat, or treating damp in a wall are all work we take. The difference is in the size, not in how we run the job.
Do you work on government and NGO contracts?
Yes. We serve both private and public sector clients, and we work within NGO contracts and the documentation and reporting they require.
The building is damaged and I do not know whether to restore or demolish.
That is exactly what the structural assessment settles. We examine the columns, beams and foundations and give you a clear engineering answer: strengthen it, restore it, or it is not worth restoring. If the answer is that it is not worth it, we say so.
